Chicago Sox Game

The "real" children and us adults loaded up on a party bus and headed into the big city for a White Sox game. One of Megan's friends dad bought a whole bunch of tickets and rented two buses to take us to the game. We were up high in the stands but Megan and her girl friends had a great time. It was like 90 degrees and hot, so we all migrated up to the shade. It was unfortuanate that the Sox lost, but it was a good game. It was free jersey day for the kids too. Max enjoyed the cotton candy too.

Milwaukee Children's Museum

A fun filled day was spent at the Milwaukee Children's Museum. The day included all of our kids, Claire and Maddie, and Emmalee and Andrew. The parental roles were played by... Mingma and Papa, Aunt Katie and Uncle Phil, and Sandy and Leroy. What a great day to be at work :) I sent a camera with the kids and they only came home with a picture of this.

As I was sorting out the 10 pound box of blueberries. Mr Connor came in and was helping himself right out of the box. Then it was a free for all for everyone.

Daylily sale - Day 2

It was a very warm day and the kids once again found themselves in the pool or begging for a tractor ride. They all really enjoyed spending time with their cousins and spending time on the farm. I wish I could count how many miles Connor put on running around. Everyone also enjoyed watching the local folks "drive" by.

Vacation in da UP... take 5

Well, the week had come and gone and it was time to go home. We packed it all back up, and headed out. We stopped by the city park to see the deer and feed them some crackers :) Max was walking Missy around the park and Megan was boppin' around somewhere. We were looking for the new albino fawn that was born their this year, but we couldnt find it. We also encountered the mass exodus heading home from the U.P., too...

Vacation in da UP... take 4

This was a day to relax and recover from the day before; some people started heading for home and others just kicked their feet up. There was a big bocce game played all over the place and watermelon for the kids. Max was happy he was able to shadow Tyler all day and Scott also picked up a shadow from Connor.

Vacation in da UP... take 3 Happy 4th

Once all the drunken fire sitters woke up, it was time for bloody marys, and the concoction of wopatoolies. This all started about 10 a.m. and lasted throughout the day.
We went tubing on the Menominee River again this year, and didn't incounter any rain, just about 70 other tubers. It was the most traffic I have ever seen on the river, and I have been doing this for close to 30 years. OMG did I just say that (30 years).
There were probably about 30+ people at camp enjoying themselves in one way or another. The menfolk were all playing either bocce ball or horseshoes and the ladiefolk were all eating, drinking, chattin' or trying to figure out which way a twin went.
The twins went to bed early from a big day of festivites, but that all changed once Daddy and Andy started letting off fireworks. They were wide awake in the camper and they were not too sure about the big booms. They both put on a great fireworks display and Max and Megan enjoyed their sparklers :)

Vacation in da UP... take 2

After a couple of days, people starting surfacing at camp, and we had to share the land. Scott and Phyliss brought out their camper and Connor had to help him unhitch it. Todd and Kathy brought out a trailer which they converted to sleeping quarters too. We had a nice bonfire in the evening, that apparently lasted until about 4 a.m. We got to hear stories about Lauren's trip to an island with no gas in the boat and how she forgot her purse there.
