First Day of School

Today was a big day for Max; he started kindergarten. He looked so cute in his little uniform and he was so excited to be like his big 4th grade sister Megan. He hangs on her every word when it comes to the things to do at school (if only that happened for all their conversations). He begged to make his lunch for tomorrow and was ready to go to bed at 7:00 tonight so he could be well rested and ready to do it all again tomorrow. Hopefully this excitement lasts and lasts.
Megan was also excited to see all her friends again and share their summer adventures. She really seems to like her teacher already and can't wait to go back tomorrow.

The twins are hoping the school year'll be so bright, they'll have to wear shades.

Where did you learn how to drive?

Friday morning on base, Bill was following a delivery truck around a corner south of the recruit graduation drill hall and apparently the truck never saw Bill. After they both completed the turn, the truck kicked it into reverse and backed right over the hood of the van. Bill had no time to throw it into reverse and get out of the way, and got "monster trucked" right in front of about 50 people. Don't people look behind them when they are backing up???

Camping

We decided to pack up the family and go camping one more time this year. We unfortunately forgot to pack the camera, so I have to wait to get some pictures off my mom's camera. The weather was beautiful and for once...NO RAIN!!! We spent the day swimming at the pool and hanging out with Grandma Pam and Papa George. Natalie came up with Amarii and she just loved playing with the twins. The kids got the usual kicks out of the many golf cart rides and trips to the playground.

Happy Birthday Papa!!

Happy Birthday to you... Happy birthday to you...

Bill and I and all of our offspring, want to wish you a very happy birthday! The kiddies thank you for all of the quality time you spend reading to them, for running them around, and for not completely freaking out. :) Hope you have a great one!!

Congrats on your Green Belt!!!

Bill has been working hard all summer long towards his Tae Kwon Do green belt and he finally got it!! Woohoo!! Way to go!!! This journey has encountered many bruises, broken toes, and currently a banged up thumb that hasn't worked correctly in a couple weeks. So now he walks around the house thinking that he is the new Jet Li or the next Jackie Chan. The twins hurried up to greet him at the door.

Cream puff time

We packed a cooler, some snacks, suntan lotion, a couple of wagons, and some children in the van and headed up to the Wisconsin state fair. The weather was about 80 and sunny all day; just perfect. The cream puffs were definitely a hit with Connor. It's a good thing too, because they are a must have when you go to the fair, along with anything and everything on a stick or deep fried. :) We even saw signs for deep fried Snickers bars, but couldn't find them. We spent a good 8 hours walking around eating and watching the animals. Keira kept asking "Tat" for every animal we saw. Megan and Max raced the "Veggie 500." Megan's veggie got a DNF...it got stuck down the ramp, and Max's just wasn't quick enough to win.

Pool Party

Tonight was the celebration of the T-ball season coming to an end. All the teams get together and have a big picnic and go swimming at the local pool. Luckily it includes all the family members, so it looks like all the kids had a good time :) We couldn't get Keira out of the pool, she is a huge water baby. She loves to put her buns up in the air and try to let them float. :) Connor just loved to run around and splash things. I never could keep track of Max and Megan, they were running around with their friends all night.

Last day of T-ball

We went the whole season without a rain delay or a rescheduled game. I guess it waited until the last game of the year. Each team got to bat one time and the sky lit up with all kinds of lightning. I suppose they could have kept playing with wooden bats :) Max really improved his game this year. Next year will be his last year of t-ball, before moving on to the real thing. Way to go, Max!!

Garage Sale

Megan decided that she wanted to have a garage sale with her friends this weekend. With a little help from Mingma & Papa, Grandma Pam and Mom & Dad, she was able to put out a nice spread of stuff. Too bad people weren't buying.. Come on, who wouldn't want a double stroller??? Let alone 3 of them. I think a grand total of $22 dollars was made for Mingma and Papa and $20 for Megan.(well actually if I added up the totals for the signs, lemonade, pop, water, lunch and misc stuff, she probably owes me) Daddy made a cool $50 bones for his old Trek bike too. It went to a great buyer too!!

Thoughts and Prayers

Please keep my cousin and her family in your thoughts and prayers today, she lost one of her best friends yesterday in this terrible ordeal. She fortunately was on vacation at the time and wasnt with this group of kids, otherwise she probably would have been there. The what ifs are endless. It just shows you how quickly things can change. This was only a couple of miles from my Aunt and Uncle's house and took place on the same river we go tubing down every summer.

Niagara shootings

I am just glad they have someone in custody.
