Head Wound Harry

What could possibly go wrong with a game of shoe tossing? The twins were throwing all my shoes down the basement stairs and Max was tossing them back up to them. Sounds fun, huh? Well I am guessing that Connor got into Keira's personal space, or grabbed the wrong shoe, or just didnt get out of the way quick enough.

Max's story is that Keira took one of Megan's school shoes and clocked Connor right in the head with it. Poor Connor!! When I heard the cries, I ran over to them and his head was bleeding. I rushed him into the bathroom to clean it [edit - as I remember, Daddy had to clean it] up and Daddy looked at it and said we had to take him in. It was a deep gash. He was no longer crying or even acknowledging his new booboo. So we wisked him off to the acute care center and they proceeded to strap him to a papoose board and give him 3 stitches in his poor little forehead. Here are some pics that we took with our phones.

Happy Birthday Keira and Connor!!

We officially have two year old twins, and they are still not to big to cuddle!! Hopefully the terrible two's will skip this household :) We will be celebrating their birthday at Chuck E Cheese this evening. They will be able to run free and have a great time too!! I will post some pics later on :)

***Update***

The party was quite a hit. They really enjoyed the time they spent at Chuck E. Cheese. They got to run around like little freaks and play on all the rides. They ate pizza and grapes and Connor was the only one that enjoyed his cupcakes. Keira didn't want anything to do with them. They received their presents from Aunt Katie & Co. in the mail too.. Thank you!!!

Happy St. Patricks Day

We enjoyed a fabulous traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner over at the parentables house. As you can see from these pics, the twins were in full spirit of the holiday. Connor found his new favorite drink laying around and decided to double fist it.

Megan's Hotel Birthday Party

Since the kids didn't have school on Monday, I planned for Megan to have her hotel birthday party on Sunday the 15th. We had it at Key Lime Cove and she had 4 girls join in on the slumbering fun. We had Hayley, Natalie, Katie and Mary and the biggest kid of all, Mommy! i picked the girls up at about 3.00 on Sunday and off we went. At this point already in the car, I was thinking what was I in for. There was already tons of squealing girls talking about boys, clothes and music.
Anyways... As soon as we checked into our room, we got our suits on and headed for the water fun. We swam for a couple of hours, got out and did the hotel scavenger hunt. Our team was one of the winners and all the girls got some tokens for the arcade. Next, it was time for the karaoke and dance party fun. Each one of the girls got up and sang some songs and they sang together as "The Pinks". Once they were all done singing and dancing, we went back to the room and started a fashion show. The fashion show consisted of a big bag of over sized clothes, sheets, jeans and miscellaneous articles of clothing. Each one of the girls had a pair of scissors and I had the hot glue gun. They all had to cut out a new outfit concoction and be able to wear it around the room. Once the fashion show was completed, there was lots and lots of jumping on the beds, eating junk food, and eventually going to sleep sometime around 3 or 4.
The next morning we got up, ate some breakfast and spend the day at the pool. It was the longest 24 hours ever!!! But fun was had by all the girls, including myself. Here are some highlights of the night!

All day RCIA retreat

We had an all day retreat for RCIA today.. It started at 9:30 am and lasted all the way until the end of the 5 pm mass. We covered lots of things in this retreat. It was really fun. We played games, ate lots of good food, and finished it up with all of the elect going for our first reconciliation.

Max's new bike

Mr. Max keeps on growing and has outgrown his 16 inch bike. Grandma and Papa found a nice 20 inch one at the local bike store and picked it up for him. He is slowly getting used to the hand brakes and switching of the gears. By summer I think he will have it mastered :)

Rite of Election

As I stated in a previous post, I was supposed to have my Rite of Election at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago, a very beautiful church with the bishop blessing all of the newly elect. Well, when the fire happened at the Cathedral, we were all wondering where this Election would happen. We found out two weeks before the date, that we would be having it on the south side of Chicago, two hours away, at St. Rita's parish gym. We were all excited but yet saddened that it would be in a gym. Then there was an announcement made 4 days before our election that we could do it in our own parish by our own Father Dave. We were pleased with this announcement that we wouldn't have to drive 2 hours in the pouring rain, and we could do this Rite in front of all of our friends and family within our own church. It was a very nice mass and it felt good to be one of the elect.

Happy Birthday Megan!!

This year Megan joined the double digits for birthdays. She celebrated the big 10!! Somedays she is 10 going on 18, but mostly she is a great daughter and can be very helpful with all of her siblings. She asked for a new cell phone for her birthday. The kind with the flip up keyboard, for all her texting needs. Daddy doesnt understand the whole texting thing, but its a quick way to keep in touch with one another when a phone call cant be made :) Here are some pics from her other gifts. She requested a fabulous dinner at Mcdonalds this year, her reasoning was due to the economy and all, that we didnt need to take her to a classy restaurant. I laughed too. But who is to complain :)

Random shots

Keira loves to play with footballs. Maybe she will be the next linebacker for the Chicago Bears someday. They both love to play in empty boxes too. They are worse than a cat.

Visit from Aunt Katie and the girls

Even though the trip was short and sweet. I think all the cousins had a good time playing with one another. I think Megan takes charge and tries to run the brood. Next time we hope they can stay longer to visit more!
